Caliche
Caliche, a surface deposit consisting of sand or clay impregnated with crystalline salts, such as sodium nitrate or sodium chloride.
Extra caliche fill from the foundation for the house is used on the top area of the rough and rocky driveway. Something for the cats to dig in.
